Trip to Jagannath Temple
On Tuesday, 5 August 2025, the young learners of Classes I and II from Chinmaya Vidyalaya, New Delhi, embarked on a serene and spiritually enriching visit to the sacred Jagannath Temple. The trip provided an opportunity for the children to experience the atmosphere of devotion and to deepen their understanding of India’s spiritual heritage.
Upon arrival, the children joyfully chanted the holy name of Lord Jagannath, filling the temple with their clear and heartfelt voices. The simplicity and sincerity of their devotion created a sense of warmth and togetherness, leaving a lasting impression on all who were present.
The visit included a peaceful moment of prayer, where the students were encouraged to reflect quietly and connect with the divine. They also listened to a gentle retelling of the story and life of Lord Jagannath, which introduced them to the significance of the deity and the traditions associated with Him.
Before leaving, the children received prashad, which they accepted with gratitude, savouring both its sweetness and the blessings it symbolised.
The trip was more than a school outing; it was a day of faith, learning, and shared spiritual experience. It helped the children connect with their cultural roots, encouraged respect for sacred spaces, and left them with a sense of peace and joy that will be remembered well beyond the day’s visit.
