Raksha Bandhan Celebration - Vriksh Rakshabandhan

On 8 August 2025, the students of Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Vasant Vihar, marked Raksha Bandhan in a unique and deeply symbolic way through Vriksh Rakshabandhan, an initiative under the Edutrust of India. Moving beyond the traditional tying of rakhis on wrists, learners adorned the trees across the school campus with beautifully crafted rakhis, expressing a heartfelt appeal for nature’s protection.

As part of the ritual, the trees were respectfully anointed with tilak, accompanied by sincere prayers for peace, harmony, and a lasting balance between humanity and the natural world. The atmosphere was filled with reverence, as students recognised the trees not only as part of the environment but as life-sustaining companions deserving of care and gratitude.

This celebration blended cultural tradition with environmental responsibility, inspiring students to see nature as a guardian and ally. It reinforced the understanding that safeguarding the planet is a collective duty, and that small, symbolic acts can carry powerful messages of respect and commitment.

Guided by the theme “One Thread, One Tree, One Earth – Forever United”, the event served as a reminder that a clean, green and flourishing environment is one of the greatest forms of protection for our shared future.
