Raksha Bandhan Celebration
The Pre-Primary learners of Chinmaya Vidyalaya, New Delhi, celebrated Raksha Bandhan on Friday, 8 August 2025, with joy, colour and festive cheer. The occasion captured the essence of the festival, expressed in the theme, “A thread of love, a promise of protection.”
Dressed in vibrant traditional attire, the children eagerly took part in creative activities. They designed and decorated their own eco-friendly rakhis, each one carrying a personal touch. These rakhis were tied to the school’s Thinking Tree, accompanied by heartfelt messages that reflected values of love, care and harmony. In a gesture of gratitude, the young learners also prepared rakhis to be sent to the nation’s soldiers, honouring their dedication and selfless service.
The celebration included an engaging storytelling session, where the children enjoyed a charming Raksha Bandhan tale that conveyed the festival’s significance in a way they could relate to. Festive songs added to the joyful atmosphere, filling the room with smiles and a shared sense of togetherness.
Beyond the festivities, the day offered a meaningful learning experience. The children came to understand the symbolic bond between a brother and sister, as well as the broader values of respect, protection and affection that Raksha Bandhan represents.
The event blended tradition, creativity and gratitude, leaving the young learners with warm memories and a deeper appreciation of one of India’s cherished festivals.
