Pujya Gurudev’s Mahasamadhi Diwas

On 2 August 2025, Chinmaya Vidyalaya, New Delhi, observed Mahasamadhi Diwas (Aradhana Diwas) of Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayanandaji with a special assembly for Classes I to XII. The programme was a solemn tribute to Gurudev’s life and teachings, filled with devotion, reflection and inspiration.

The assembly began with the Paduka Puja, performed by the Principal, Ms Archana Soni, along with the In-charges. Students listened attentively as the meaning of Samadhi and the significance of Aradhana were explained, offering them a deeper understanding of this sacred observance. This was followed by Naam Sankeertan, where the chanting of the Lord’s name created a serene and uplifting atmosphere.

In her address, the Principal urged students to walk in Gurudev’s footsteps, embracing righteousness as true saadhaks. She encouraged them to see Gurudev as their guide, to express love and gratitude towards him, and to pledge to be good human beings. She also highlighted the power of collective chanting, describing it as a practice that generates unity and spiritual energy.

The assembly concluded with a soulful aarti, leaving participants with a profound sense of peace and devotion. The day’s observance was not only a remembrance of Gurudev’s inspiring journey but also an opportunity for the school community to reaffirm their commitment to self-realisation and spiritual growth.

Adding a creative dimension to the occasion, primary students prepared paper garlands decorated with words and images that celebrated noble deeds and cherished values. Delicately crafted origami flowers, made with care and devotion, were offered at Gurudev’s lotus feet, symbolising love, gratitude and reverence.

The event was a heartfelt homage, uniting students and staff in the spirit of devotion, service and the pursuit of higher ideals, embodying the essence of Gurudev’s timeless message.
