Chinmaya Mission is a spiritual, social and educational organization with a global presence. The service wing of the Mission operates under the acronym CORD – Chinmaya Organisation of Rural Development. In pursuance of the vision of its founder, Swami Chinmayananda, it has been actively serving citizens of rural India for the past several years.
CHINMAYA YUVA KENDRA (CHYK):- New Delhi CHYK is a group of vibrant and dynamic youngsters working persistently to realize their purpose; marching ahead with a goal of unfolding our true-self, helping other to grow along and ultimately contributing in the progress of the country. With a healthy blend of India’s rich cultural heritage, modern scientific advances and spiritual knowledge, we promise to forge ahead for the country’s cause.
CHINMAYA KIDS (BALVIHAR):- Swami Chinmayananda once said: "Children are not vessels to be filled, but lamps to be lit." Bal Vihars are weekly gatherings of children between the ages of 5 and 15 that take place in Chinmaya Mission centres or in private homes, under the supervision of trained sevaks (volunteers).There are hundreds of Bal Vihars in India and abroad operating under the supervision of Chinmaya Mission centres.
CHINMAYA BHAKTI PRAVAH:- Sound is a basic disturbance. When it does not convey any meaning it is noise. When it conveys a meaning, it is word. And words arranged in proper syntax and conveying a fullness of thought become a sentence, in prose. The same idea expressed in metrical composition becomes poetry. Poetry soaked in emotion and cadenced in its own harmony and rhythm becomes music." Remember the Lord of your heart (Ishta Devata). Sit completely relaxed, both physically and mentally surrendering totally to him who is the sole protector of this Universe.
CHINMAYA VANAPRASTHA SANSTHAN:- The Chinmaya Vanaprastha Sansthan (CVS) strives to improve the quality and lifestyle of senior citizens through learning and selfless service. Its activities include training in the prevention and cure of old age diseases through a holistic approach; tackling problems related to financial, social and psychological issues associated with aging; and, above all, understanding the aims of the third and fourth stages of life and striving to achieve them. Selfless service is encouraged through a variety of programmes that enable senior citizens to utilize their energies, experience and expertise, both for mutual help and also for serving other sections of society.
