Astronomy is one of the few sciences where the amateurs can still play an active role, especially in the discovery and observation of transient phenomena. Astronomy is fun and it can be made even more fun when you do it with other people.
The school initiated the programme of Astronomy Workshops for classes I to V under the aegis of the organization SPACE to enthuse young learners regarding various aspects of astronomy. An Orientation Programme was held on 11 April 2017, to encourage students to participate in the same. Around 700 students participated in this. A plethora of activities like Launching of a Rocket, Making of a Comet were conducted to popularize Astronomy in the school. Towards the end of the programme SPACE representatives handed out flyers containing schedule of various Hands-On workshop and consent slips for parents for acknowledgement of child’s participation.
